FAMILY MENTORING Program for wa families living with T1D

Are you new to navigating life with Type 1?

T1D Together is a diabetes education and peer support program designed for families navigating challenges after a child’s type 1 diabetes diagnosis.

A sudden Type 1 diabetes (T1D) diagnosis is a life-altering event. While the hospital provides the clinical training necessary for survival, the emotional weight can make it hard to process everything at once. Many families tell us they return home feeling overwhelmed, isolated, and unsure of how to navigate their "new normal."

We are here to help you bridge that gap - inviting you into a circle of understanding where you can find your footing, build your confidence, and begin thriving again.

WHAT IS T1D TOGETHER?

This program is a blend of clinical expertise and peer lived experience. It includes two primary workshops facilitated by a Credentialed Diabetes Educator (CDE) and an online community.

BECOME A SUPPORT PARENT

Support parents are volunteers and play a supportive, non-clinical role. Your lived experience helps normalise what newly diagnosed families are feeling and shows them that life with type 1 diabetes can become manageable and meaningful over time.

Important Boundaries: Support parents do not provide medical advice, adjust insulin doses, or interpret glucose data. Your role is to offer peer empathy; all clinical concerns must be referred to the family's healthcare team.

EXPRESS INTEREST
