Camp information
The Family Centre offers two types of camps - Family Camp at Camp Quaranup in the January and Sept/Oct school holidays for families with kids aged 3-14, and Teen Camp at Forest Edge, Waroona also in the Sept/Oct school holidays.
These aren't "diabetes camps". At the Family Centre, we know how important it is to connect with other people who’ve walked a mile in your shoes.
Family Camp
-
The Family Centre offers two Family Camps a year. One in Summer and one in Spring, both at Camp Quaranup in Albany. A Commonwealth Quarantine Station up until the 1930s, the camp is now operated by the Department of Sport and Recreation. It boasts heritage-listed buildings steeped in early settlement history and is surrounded by amazing harbour views, 100 acres of natural bushland reserve and pristine coastline.
-
The three or four-night camp sessions are jam-packed with amazing outdoor activities including a cubby building competition, canoeing, crab hunting, rogaining, beachcombing, spotlighting and exploring the beautiful Albany surrounds. In addition, there is plenty of free time to allow families to further explore and play in the area or visit the City of Albany and other attractions within the Great Southern region.
-
You’ll stay in simple back-to-basics chalet accommodation, sleeping on bunk beds, enjoying family time with no electronics to distract from time to reconnect. The camp is fully catered, so parents can enjoy relaxing mealtimes with their kids, who are barely awake at the table after days that are filled with adventure and excitement.
Teen Camp
-
In the Spring school holidays, we take YOU to Forest Edge in Waroona for an awesome few days of fun and challenges!
-
This is an epic adventure, with a whole lot of the great outdoors to explore, and a program of activities to make you feel challenged, learn about yourself, work out lots of new ways to communicate, and laugh – a lot.
