A look back at Flametree Wines Luncheon 2023

Firstly, we cannot thank Rob Towner and Flametree Wines enough. To present one event in a year is fabulous – to deliver two within one financial year is simply extraordinary! So – to Rob and family, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to you for generously presenting the event when COVID moved it to October 2022, and then supporting it again in May last year. Amazing of you.
The wonderful news? Together the FY22/23 luncheons raised just under $250,000 for the Family Centre! This brings the total raised through this event to nearly $700,000.
Without these funds, we simply couldn’t continue our work – it’s that important. We are incredibly grateful for your partnership and the difference you are making in the lives of countless individuals.

Thank you to our presenters, performers, and entertainers for providing fabulous moments.
A huge thank you goes to our two speakers, who kindly and courageously shared stories of the impact that type 1 diabetes has had on their lives. We know what we ask when we approach people to tell their story – we know that it can stir up painful memories, and yet, nonetheless, they generously agree to share. We know that with sharing stories comes shared understanding, and for that we thank both Alia Parker and Ben Flintoff from the bottom of our hearts.

To Mr Daniel Delby, our MC, we say thank you for making the ‘formalities’ flow so smoothly, with such a relaxed feel. We appreciated your ‘confession’ that, being from Wanneroo, you needed to learn French for us (Laurent-Perrier and Cirque du Soleil were safe with you)!
To Mr Jon Pinder, thank you for making us laugh so hard we missed half of what you said! However, we may never look at a crow (or the esteemed Mr John Hughes) in the same way again…

To Mr Chris Murphy, thank you for showing us your mellow side – with just a guitar and an amazing voice, you made an afternoon by a sparkling river even more magical!
A huge thank you to our food and beverage sponsors – you made the event truly indulgent! We were so appreciative of the support from Banks and Bloom for enabling us to start the event with a delightful G&T, Off the Vine for putting more bubbles in our day, and to Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club for supporting us in holding the event at one of the most picturesque spots in Perth!

To our ‘Friends of Flametree’ premium table holders, thank you! We’re incredibly proud to have the support of such well-respected organisations. Your sponsorship of this event shows your commitment to nurturing positive change in our community, and we are deeply appreciative.

To the organisations that supported our fundraising, your generosity and kindness mean the world to us. You helped create an amazingly tempting catalogue of auction items to entice our guests! We are very fortunate to have the support of such outstanding donors.

An equal thanks goes to the people who bid so enthusiastically for these wonderful items – you truly made our day!
And to Mr Andrew Cooper – auctioneer extraordinaire! – we cannot thank you enough for offering your time, passion, and expertise. In your capable hands, our fundraising was even more effective – and a whole heap of fun! Andrew – you support this event in so many ways, and for that you have our deepest appreciation.

With this goes a huge shout-out to our wonderful volunteers who assisted throughout the event. Thank you all so much for your hard work, your dedication, and for your smiles throughout the day. It was critical in making the event the success that it was. As an organisation we are so fortunate to have people who are so committed and caring as you are, and your unwavering support makes our community a better place.
And finally, to those of you who made a pledge on the day – you have helped us beyond measure. We have some lovely news to share, and look forward to being back in touch with you individually to provide an update on the initiative you so generously supported. We are both humbled and grateful.
So – to each and every one of you, our sincere thanks for being part of an event that is so important in helping us continue our work in supporting people impacted by this incredibly complex, challenging condition. Thank you for attending, and for donating. Thank you for your laughter, and for bringing your friends and business contacts with you to the Luncheon. Your support means the world to us.
In turn, we hope you had a wonderful day. It is our pleasure to provide this video as a small reminder of the event…enjoy!
