Telethon Community Cinemas

Are you ready to volunteer for the 2023/2024 Telethon Community Cinemas Season?

Telethon Community Cinemas has made a truly remarkable contribution to the WA community, raising vital funds for kids and families in need over the past two decades. We are delighted to announce that the Family Centre is a charity beneficiary for the upcoming season.

To support them in their fundraising efforts, Telethon Community Cinemas ask us to help gather a committed group of people who will volunteer their time, skills and talent to support the success of these iconic Community Cinemas in the season ahead.

Can you help? Volunteering with Telethon Community Cinemas for the Family Centre will allow you to have fun under the stars, connect with like-minded people and make a difference in the lives of kids with type 1 and their families. This is a terrific fundraising opportunity for our type 1 tribe, so we'd be very grateful if you could assist.

Get involved!

Just look at this list of benefits:

  • Help raise vital funds for the Type 1 Diabetes Family Centre.

  • Receive a free pass to the cinema at the end of each shift!

  • Make friends, meet new people.

  • Learn new skills, gain work experience.

  • Help build community spirit.

  • It *may* cancel out the bad things you have done this year, karmically speaking!

  • Telethon Community Cinemas ask that you help either weekly or fortnightly

  • Every volunteer who completes 10 shifts receives a vote to nominate their charity of choice as the recipient of a share of funds. The more volunteers who complete 10 shifts, the more funds allocated to the Family Centre!

  • Season dates and locations are as follows:

MURDOCH: Wednesday 15 November to Saturday 20 April

BURSWOOD: Tuesday 28 November to Saturday 20 April

JOONDALUP: Saturday 18 November to Saturday 20 April

BASSENDEAN: Wednesday 7 December to Saturday 13 April

  • This season starts 15th November

  • Everyone working at the screenings is a volunteer. They sell raffle tickets, hire out bean bag lounges, cook snags, make coffee, help patrons, and work in the bar and box office. As a volunteer, your duties will vary with each shift.

Make sure to choose the Type 1 Diabetes Family Centre as your charity partner!

During the registration process, you will be asked to nominate your charity partner, make sure you click on the drop-down arrow and highlight the Type 1 Diabetes Family Centre.

Please share the application link with friends, family or colleagues who might like to join the Telethon Community Cinemas volunteer crew this season in support of the Type 1 Diabetes Family Centre!
